I completely agree with the fact that Spark is much better than the swift which inspite of being a higher segment, gives you a feel of a very low segment car. The swift might have a good engine, but everything else sucks in it. And only the engine does not determine the driving experience. Gearing is a major factor in determining acceleration graph, suspension is very important in determining driving feel.
The swift drives like a friggin’ indica with a powerful petrol engine. My very close friend has a swift (base model) and i have spark LT (highest model) so I have good driving experience for both cars in city as well as highway.
power - swift marginally better(bigger engine) but i’ve pushed my spark to 150. It was absolutely stable seemed like it had more.
acceleration - spark (try going to 80 in 2nd gear)
comfort - spark (independent front suspension, gas shockers both front and rear). In this area the swift feels like a bullock cart in comparison to spark.
space - swift is better in raw space, but interiors are poorly designed. spark is very nicely designed.
looks - obviously the spark. take it out on the street and notice how many people look at the car. swifts looks pregnant with a huge rear.
handling - definitely the spark. drive it to believe it.
I would never trade my spark for the Swift. GM is way ahead of maruti.
